The FUN Show Lived Up to Its Name in Orlando
If you needed proof that coins and metals are anything but boring, last week’s FUN Coin Show in Orlando delivered—big time. The bourse floor was buzzing from open to close, with record-breaking crowds filling the aisles and nonstop energy at nearly every table. FUN once again reminded everyone why it’s one of the most exciting weeks of the numismatic year.
While many attendees were new to the hobby—especially the wave of enthusiastic “silver stackers” focused on bullion and precious metals—at Scarsdale Coin, our focus remained firmly on what we do best: true numismatic collectibles.
We’re proud to be a nationally recognized specialist in Three-Cent Silver coins, a fascinating and often overlooked series that blends history, rarity, and charm. Over the years, we’ve bought and sold more Three-Cent Silvers than any other dealer, assembled and currently own the finest collection of the series, authored numerous articles educating collectors, and earned multiple award-winning exhibits showcasing these remarkable coins.
That combination made FUN especially rewarding. While the energy of the silver market brought excitement to the room, many collectors stopped by our table to dive deeper—examining rare pieces, discussing die varieties, condition rarities, and learning why Three-Cent Silvers have become such a compelling area of specialization. These are the conversations we love: thoughtful, curious, and rooted in true collecting.
Beyond the coins themselves, FUN once again delivered what makes this hobby special—community. Reconnecting with longtime collectors, meeting new ones, sharing knowledge, and seeing genuine enthusiasm across generations is what keeps the hobby vibrant.
If Orlando taught us anything, it’s that the hobby continues to grow in every direction—from new silver stackers discovering metals to advanced collectors seeking world-class specialties. At Scarsdale Coin, we’re thrilled to be part of that story and to keep shining a spotlight on one of America’s most intriguing and underappreciated coin series.
Already looking forward to the next FUN Show in July…
