Half Cent

First minted in 1793, the half cent is the smallest denomination of any coin that has ever been created in the United States, and was authorized by the Coinage Act of 1792.

One Cent

The United States Mint has produced various types of cents throughout its history, including Large Cents, Flying Eagle Cents, Indian Head Cents, Lincoln Cents.

Two Cent

Two Cent

Designed by renowned coin artist James B. Longacre, the two cent was in circulation from 1864 to 1872 and was created for collectors and abolished by the Mint Act in 1873.

The United States Mint produced two different three-cent coins for circulation: Three Cent Silvers were produced in 1851 and the Three Cent Nickel was produced in 1865.

$2.5 Gold Quarter Eagle

$2.5 Quarter Eagle

Struck from 1908 to 1915 and from 1925 to 1929, the $2.5 Gold Eagle was struck during both periods until World War I in the late 1920s caused gold to vanish from circulation.

5 Gold Half Eagle

$5 Gold Half Eagle

Struck for circulation from 1908 to 1916 and then again in 1929, the $5 Gold Eagle, and the $2.5 Gold, remains the only US circulated coin with a beautifully recessed design.

$10 Gold Eagle

$10 Gold Eagle

Issued by the US Mint from 1795 to 1933 and first produced two years after it opened, the $10 Gold Eagle was the largest of the 5 decimal-based coins prior to 1933.

20 Double Eagle

$20 Double Eagle

Created by the Coinage Act of 1894, the $20 Gold Eagle’s gold content was .9675 troy oz at $20.67 oz, making it worth exactly $20 and is called "Double Eagle" for its value.

Three Dollar Gold

Produced by the United States Bureau of the Mint from 1854 to 1889, the three dollar coin was created to allow for larger purchases of the three cent postage stamp.
