The annual Bay State Coin Show (which btw is the oldest commercial coin show in the USA – Started in 1964) has come and gone this past weekend.
If you live in the Northeast especially the New England area near Boston I really hope you had a chance to attend.
This year’s show brought many happy coin dealers and collectors together but certainly more people should have, would have could have attended….
Might I say ours was just one of the great coin dealers set up there and I always enjoy this show (certainly one of the top 10 in the country) However I must say that I fell it falls under the radar of so many.
Years ago the show took place in Boston at a major hotel and a few years ago the venue changed to a very nice hotel located in Marlbough MA. While I believe change is good, sometimes change takes a few years in the coin show business.
In fact both dealers and collectors certainly have benefitted from the change…i.e. no parking fees, hotel fee reduction, etc.
So if you did not make it this year, please plan to attend in the future. The show’s promotor Ed Aleo is one heck of a nice guy going out of his way to put on the best possible show and the range of material available at the show and the number of dealers is a treat onto itself.
Hope to see you there next year!
