1935-S Arkansas Commemorative Half Dollar – PCGS MS63 OGH CAC

The 1935-S Arkansas half dollar celebrates the history and development of Arkansas, commemorating the centennial of the territory’s establishment in 1819. Issued as part of the classic U.S. commemorative coin series, the design features a Native American figure on the obverse alongside an eagle on the reverse, reflecting themes associated with the state’s heritage and progress. Struck in 90% silver at the San Francisco Mint, this handsome half dollar represents an interesting chapter in America’s commemorative coinage.

The mintage makes this issue especially appealing. Just 5,506 examples were struck at San Francisco, a small production figure that adds to its interest among collectors. The 1935-S is an important date for anyone assembling a complete Arkansas commemorative set, and its limited mintage gives it a special place within the series.

This example is graded MS63 by PCGS and approved by CAC, providing the added confidence of respected third-party grading and independent quality verification. It is housed in an Old Green Holder (OGH), a feature appreciated by collectors who enjoy the earlier generation of PCGS holders. Combining classic commemorative artistry, a low mintage, CAC approval, and the appeal of an original green-label holder, this 1935-S Arkansas half dollar is a noteworthy addition to a collection of classic American silver commemoratives.
