1870 3CS AU53 PCGS
The 1870 mintage consisted of only 3,000 coins. However this is truly much rarer than what one may be lead to believe….as most business strikes were melted in July 1873.. PCGS total certified count is just a tad over 100 pieces and how many have been broken out and resubmitted for upgrades?
Overall a nice even piece which is Elephant Grey… we not that this is tongue variety where the bottom of the “7” exhibits what appears to be tongue sticking out.
